I have one online example and one offline example.  For years Khiels has allowed you to hand pick free samples of the great products with every purchase; they do it in a way that is completely in line with their brand experience whether its in the store or online.  This approach has allowed me to try new products and then purchase them later since I pick ones that I have real curiousity about.

Online example are services like Flickr where you get to try the service for free and over time see the need and desire for the paid premium version - or as they call it &quot;freemium&quot;
